I'm Samantha J. Brown
I build things people can use and hold in their hands. I built Suzanne 3D at Founders, Inc., now do design engineering at Imagine AI (YC F25), and previously built compliance software at Sicura for systems serving the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Army. I studied Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction, founded LakerHacks, won seven hackathons, coach with Major League Hacking, and create tech content for a community of 30k+ builders.
Experience
Led the redesign of Imagine AI's LinkedIn content agent end to end: audit, wireframes, color and type system, and the production React front end.
Built AI-native 3D modeling for real-world parts at Founders, Inc. Models accounted for material, loads, and printer constraints.
Built Angular compliance automation tooling used by the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Army, including reusable UI components and API-connected workflows.
Travel to hackathons, support organizers, and help students turn ideas into working projects.
Hackathon highlights
Bear Escape won Best UI Design and Best Use of Gemini at Cornell's Big Red Hacks 2025. The browser rhythm game combines AI-generated charts from MP3s with real-time webcam gesture controls.
LetsHelp won 2nd Place Overall and 1st in the Gemini Track at Georgetown University's HoyaHacks 2026. It's a hands-free, voice-controlled tech support system built with TypeScript and the Gemini API — designed to help elderly users navigate technology without touching a screen.
AirWaves won Best Gamify Hack at Bitcamp 2025 (University of Maryland). Players “conduct” music by moving through an interactive soundscape — built with TypeScript and the Web Audio API with real-time gesture detection. A unique blend of music, game design, and HCI.
Beat Boxing earned third place at HopHacks 2025. The browser-based rhythm and exercise game tracks uppercuts, hooks, and blocks through a webcam and can run a large library of Clone Hero and Guitar Hero song charts.

A team from SUNY Oswego secured 3rd place with BeatBoxing, a browser-based rhythm and exercise game tracking player movements via webcam. Johns Hopkins' annual coding marathon drew college students from across the country to create a record number of software projects in just 36 hours.

Samantha excels in computer science and interaction design at SUNY Oswego, with a track record of winning hackathons and creating innovative projects that combine technology and design.

SUNY Oswego's LakerHacks team achieved notable success at Johns Hopkins and Cornell. Samantha Brown won Best Use of Gemini API and Best Design at Cornell's BigRed//Hacks with 'Bear Escape', a 3D browser-based rhythm game.

The inaugural LakerHacks event redefined the traditional hackathon experience, drawing around 75 students. Samantha, a key architect of the event, helped create a space where innovation and collaboration thrived, with plans for MLH approval.
